Serge Mouille's lighting fixtures are emblematic of the 1950s. Thin, in black lacquered metal, they come in different forms: wall lights, pendants, floor lamps, table lamps. It is their simplicity and their simple forms that have allowed them to to last over time, and to still be published today.

Serge Mouille's lamps are designed like real jewels, and this is no coincidence since he entered the Applied Arts School at the age of 14 and took goldsmithing classes. He designed his first floor lamp for Jacques Adnet, an architect and decorator. It is the three-branched floor lamp, made of steel rods and tubes and manufactured individually. Their silhouette is recognizable, elegant and disturbing, because the arms are reminiscent of insect legs... An idea that Serge Mouille would take up again for other chandeliers that he would name Araignée.

The reflectors of the lamppost can pivot thanks to small gilded brass ball joints. Made of enameled aluminum, their shapes are evocative and erotic. Serge Mouille was inspired by women's breasts, which is what made Adnet say: "They're going to make fun of me when they see your breast-shaped reflectors!" Also called "negress nipples", they became emblematic of a "Mouille" style.

This floor lamp is the first in the series of lights, still adjustable thanks to the pivots, and grouped under the name of Formes Noires which will be designed according to the same model, "a combination of turning, cutting and controlled manual deformation, which produces unique shapes inaccessible to the usual techniques and which, in fact, will perplex the technicians of the time".
His training as a goldsmith is then evident, he shapes the aluminum sheets like pieces of goldsmithery, gives them a spiral shape for the Flamme series, rolls them up on themselves for the Tuyaux. The smooth and soft finish reinforces this tactile side, as if Serge Mouille invited us to caress them, since as he himself said: "Lamps are like ass and breasts, you touch them!"

Serge Mouille's lamps are designed as real jewels, and this is not by chance since he entered at 14 years old at the Applied Arts and took courses in goldsmithing. He designs his second floor lamp for Jacques Adnet, architect and decorator. It is the three-branch lamp post, made of steel rods and tubes and manufactured individually. Their silhouette is recognizable, elegant and disturbing, because the arms remind us of insect paws... Idea that Serge Mouille will take up again for other chandeliers that he will name Spider.

Serge Mouille was inspired by women's breasts, which would have made Adnet say: "They're going to laugh at me when they see your boob-shaped reflectors!". Also called "nipples of negress", they became emblematic of a "Mouille " style.
