Pierre Vandel was born in 1939 in Roubaix, France. He obtained a vocational certificate in industrial design and adjustment. He then joined the design office of Ponts et Chaussées and studied at the CNAM (Arts et Métiers).
Full of ideas, he tests several projects at home, such as a vertical aquarium. He also designs hi-fi furniture, side tables, lighting fixtures, etc. Vandel is a true enthusiast!
In 1969, he found his distributor: the company Marais International. They placed an order for 5,000 pieces. He then founded his workshop and then had a decisive encounter: he became friends with the famous Pierre Cardin. The latter helped him found his brand Pierre Vandel-Paris.
His work has attracted worldwide attention, with Vandel selling in Paris, New York, London, Melbourne and Tokyo. This success has earned him two export Oscars from the Ministry of Industry.
Designed for Pierre Cardin, these knife holders, as sculptural as they are functional, are made of brushed gold-colored aluminum.
