The term minimalism has not always been used correctly, especially in the field of architecture. Even today, this word, which is confusing, is the subject of contradictions when it comes to defining a movement, a school or a creative trend. This expression began to be conveyed during the 60s, when famous artists such as Donald Judd and Robert Morris came onto the scene. Minimalist Interiors is a book that offers an exhaustive visual journey through the most beautiful spaces that sum up this aesthetic, the fruit of an era that was a victim of the excesses of consumer society. The selected projects are characterized by their minimalist style. But also by the light and its impact on the volumes, by the composition of the buildings and the configuration of the space, the design and the structure, by the textures of the materials that acquire a fundamental importance, to the detriment of any form of decoration or ornament, without any concession to convenience or unnecessary evocations. An architecture, in short, which advocates concrete forms, designed to establish a link with the environment, and whose identity is defined by functionality, purity of lines and geometric shapes.
