Co-published with Steidl on the occasion of the Common Objects exhibition presented at the BAL in 2014, this object book confronts and creates a visual interaction between Baltz's images and extracts from the films presented.

Lewis Baltz had already highlighted the influence that cinema had had on his photography. But this was the first time, on the occasion of the exhibition, that he cited concrete sources: Hitchcock, Godard and Antonioni. Designed by Pierre Hourquet, the publication comes in the form of 120 pages bound in a silkscreened plastic case, as flexible as a record sleeve.

The film clips are printed on transparent rhodoid plastic which covers the white pages, and on rare occasions the images of Baltz, creating a sumptuous hide-and-seek effect.

The book includes excerpts from the series Candlestick Point , Ronde de Nuit , Prototype Works , Tract Houses and Sites of Technology , as well as texts by film historian and curator Dominique Païni and writer and curator David Campany.
